Accessibility

Schenck Forest is open to the public for hiking, birdwatching and other recreational activities. The terrain features gravel roads and dirt trails, with a topography that ranges from flat to rolling.

Bicycling is not permitted, and dogs have been banned due to the disturbance to the land and classes.

To use the forest — and its facilities — for any organizational or personal events, you must receive permission from the Forest Assets Team at NC State’s College of Natural Resources.

You can email the team at cnr_forests@ncsu.edu or call at 919-515-7321. There is a minimum charge for organizing events and reserving facilities depending on the type of event/activity.
